A short history of Garneau slippers
It all started in 1977 when François Garneau discovered his interest in artisanal leather work, making shoes, sandals and bags. This self-taught artisan did not hesitate to explore the different materials and forms that now include fur in his creations.
One small step for man, one giant leap for the company
His creativity resulted in combining leather and fur. One thing lead to another and the idea to make sheepskin slippers came about. He began to visualize, draw, cut and sew his first patterns when he was just 23 years old!
A creation that grew in a blink of an eye
In 1978, barely a year after starting to fashion leather goods, François built a workshop attached to his home in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
Sheepskin slippers have attracted web users from everywhere and comforted toes from coast to coast!
An art that continues to evolve and innovate
Since the first model, Garneau slippers have evolved and improved. The models have proliferated and the Garneau workshop, built by François, now manufactures fifteen unique styles of slippers. All slippers are handmade with the best raw materials available in the market. Each model is available in a dozen colors of suede, some totally brilliant and others more traditional. The craftsman has not completely abandoned his first love and also manufactures several models in leather.
The soles of my feet have traveled far
Garneau slippers are the only ones that are designed with removable and replaceable insoles! The insoles increase the comfort and durability of the slipper. This is a fine example of the attention to detail and quality that distinguish Garneau slippers.
With 34 years of experience in manufacturing sheepskin slippers, it goes without saying that the real experts are the Garneau Workshop!
A slipper that appeals to generations
